Why did you choose your undergraduate course?
I’ve always been fascinated by health and wanted to find out more about the human body and how it works. I loved studying these subjects at school so I knew I’d enjoy the BSc Hons Dietetics degree at Ulster.
Describe your experience of studying at Ulster in three words
Friendly, small and fun.
How do you think studying at Ulster has prepared you for your future career?
There are lots of practical elements of my course, which is great because it’s not just constantly sitting in lectures listening to people. You get to physically carry out what you study and witness things first hand that you normally wouldn’t get to do.
What one piece of advice would you give to someone considering applying to Ulster?
I would suggest researching your course thoroughly and be prepared for what you’re getting yourself into. While I really enjoy my course, there is a lot more science than I expected so it might put some people off.
Would you recommend studying at Ulster and why?
Yes, because it’s really focused on preparing you for the future and gives a lot of chances to make sure you’re ready. The University’s smaller campus at Coleraine also makes it such a close community, so everyone is really friendly and it’s a great place to live and study.
